About Us

Mackie Wood Co was initiated when the global Covid pandemic hit in 2020. Run by Olly, who’s been making bespoke furniture for private clients, shops and galleries for over 10 years. Without a decent online presence, work declined as we were mainly selling personally on a face to face basis and at physical premises.

Time to join the modern world!! Something that i really hadn’t done or put the time into, selling online was a scary thought to me. My time has been spent hidden away in my rural workshop in North Devon making many different styles of furniture and smaller home decor. So I hit the ground running and started the long process of setting up our online shop. Offering quality handmade furniture to a much wider audience. The process was softly softly and I started with an Etsy shop which has now led to the setting up of this site.

I can’t take all the credit mind. My partner Carrie is by me every step of the way. We’ve had some serious and long conversations, some would call it brainstorming sessions about the best way forward to take the business. Carrie is key to the business, an instrumental part, getting me out of my single minded ways, undertaking research and development, managing social media and promoting. In her own right she is a very talented artist and turns her hand to many creative mediums, which you will see added to the shop soon.

I’ll be honest never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be writing a BLOG, I didn’t even know what one was!!

I reckon that’ll be enough information to begin with!! I’ll do my very best to keep you all updated with the latest goings on at Mackie Wood Co HQ, letting you know about new product launches, photos of work in progress (if i can work out hoe to add photos!) and maybe some tips and techniques to aid you with your own wood working.
